A little about…
Kendal Kirkland
Kendal has as secret. The 16 year old from San Diego used to be overweight.
In the sixth grade, at the age of 10 he was roughly about 185 pounds. He didn’t like his body and had low self-esteem. He found the inspiration to lose weight. Now he hopes to inspire others.
The Lincoln High School student is participating in the National Association of Black Journalists Journalism Workshop at Point Loma Nazarene University. He has considered being a Journalist and plans to better express himself. Kirkland plans to “make a change in the world,” by expressing himself and sharing his story.
Kirkland hopes to help other teens suffering from low self-esteem, by encouraging them to overcome their fears.
In the meantime, Kirkland is still following his healthy diet that requires no chips, no fried foods and not drinking soda.
